About Me

Hi, I’m Hayley. I can’t say I ever really remember a time where I didn’t know how to sew. Growing up with both my Mum and me Nan sewing we were always in and out of haberdashery’s and I regularly heard the machine whirring. But although I took textiles as a GCSE I actually didn’t really start sewing as hobby until well into my 20s.

The introduction of vintage, craft, sewing and female led business blogs not only led me to take it up as a hobby, they also inspired me to start my own business in the sewing industry.

So in 2016 I launched SewHayleyJane, the first sewing subscription box of its kind in the UK and grew not only the business but an incredible community of makers who subscribed to the boxes as well as small business friends and wonderful ladies who helped me send out our monthly box of inspiration.

At its peak we were sending over 600 boxes a month, something I will always be insanely proud of. However the time came in 2025 to say goodbye to the boxes and venture in a new direction. Bringing that community along with me I launched ThreadySetGo, an online sewing community hub where we can all share our love of stitching, connect in the free forum as well is in our virtual sewing socials and so much more.

When I’m not at the machine I’m spending time at home with my husband Andy and daughter Mia, watching movies, reading books, trying new crafts and enjoying the company of our friends and family. I enjoy sharing my passion for sewing here on the blog as well as on my YouTube channel in the ThreadySetGo forum and through my newsletter.
