All about SewHayleyJane
Hello!! I’m Hayley and I set up SewHayleyJane in 2016 after a discussion with my husband on a long car journey about fabric shops, and how I’d love to open my own. Of course setting up a bricks and mortar shop is no easy feat and so the idea of a subscription box company came about. I love beautiful fabrics, buttons, ribbons and trims and can spend hours browsing a fabric shop, to leave empty handed because I just couldn’t make my mind up.
I’ve always enjoyed making and creating things, I’ve tried my hand at jewellery making, baking, knitting and photography, but always came back to sewing. However, it’s only ever been a hobby until now. I actually have spent the first 10 years of my career working with children and then with adults with learning disabilities and autism. Yes, it was rewarding and I loved it, but I have always wanted to do something creative as well as to have my own business.
Fast forward a few years and I am so excited to see how SewHayleyJane has grown and expanded. I’ve gone from packing boxes on my dining room table, which I quickly outgrew, to packing boxes in my beautiful studio in rural Hampshire. I get to send beautiful packages of fabric and sewing gifts to my wonderful customers who are inspired to try something new or out of their comfort zone. My favourite messages to receive are those that say “I never would have chosen this fabric for myself, but I absolutely love it”.
