This box has been in pipeline since the beginning of summer. I got so excited at the thought of creating a box with snuggly double gauze fabric but just knew it would be better to wait until the cold weather sets in and we are all excited to cozy up under blankets with hot chocolate and a movie.
Scrunchies are back in a big way and sewists rejoice as they are a great way of using up small pieces of fabric - make one to match every new garment! I have put together a tutorial for a basic scrunchie but you can definitely get a bit more creative and add a bow or maybe use piping along the long edge.
October's Sew Retro themed Luxury boxes included the gorgeous Alex Jumpsuit pattern from Workshop, a stunning pattern company, fabric shop and sewing cafe company based in Headingley Leeds. I caught up with company owner Aliss for a feature in the accompanying magazine.
Hi, I’m Lucy and I’m this months ‘Make of the Month’. The fabric I used was actually from my first box, the ‘Palm Springs’ from July. I’m so excited that Hayley chose my make as it was a special box curated with help from the Foldline girls Kate & Rachel. I just love what they all came up with.
Lately I've been looking at my me-made wardrobe and thinking about what I make in comparison to what I wear on a regular basis, identifying gaps that can be filled with more practical garments as well as the beautiful dresses. I tend to like one-piece outfits such as jumpsuits for ease of styling, knowing that I can throw on one garment and that is pretty much my outfit sorted, however one of the gaps I identified is separates.
Leaves are starting to turn a glorious golden brown, and pumpkin spice lattes are back on the menu. It can only mean one thing… Autumn is upon us! Which also heralds back to school! As a kid I always loved the ritual of getting new school shoes, a new uniform and choosing new stationery. And if you were lucky enough to get the coveted 36 pack of Crayola colouring pencils, then boy, you were the most popular kid in class!
Well this has been a very exciting box to put together. A few month ago I launched a competition on social media to "design a box". I asked for theme ideas and the one that I loved the most would get that box as a prize.
Hi everyone, I’m Holly and I was so thrilled to be Hayley’s make of the month for my gingham seersucker Seren Dress! It is such a treat receiving Hayley’s boxes every month and the ‘Picnic in the Park’ box for June was no exception.
I tore open the bolts of this gorgeous flamingo print viscose the minute it arrived in my studio. Kate and Rachel from The Fold Line did a great job choosing this fabric when they curated July’s Palm Springs box.
