A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Lavender Haze

I hadn’t heard the phrase Lavender Haze until I started working out a theme for February’s box, but it is a term from the 1950s which means to be in that honeymoon phase of a relationship… which I think we all still are when it comes to a beautiful piece of fabric right?

The theme first started taking shape in October last year, I worked with Lady McElroy to recolour and slightly alter an existing design of theirs which was originally meant to be for December. The timings didn’t quite work out so with another little tweak it became the perfect fabric for a box with a slight nod to the romantic!

Luxury Box

I mean… it’s stunning! A beautiful royal blue viscose rickardi lawn with a floral ditsy print in pinks, purples and creams. It has a bit more weight to it than a lot of viscose fabrics but still has a sensational amount of drape.

Dress, blouses, skirts, shirts… viscose is such a versatile fabric! But this month we’ve paired it with the new Bellissima Blouse from My Handmade Wardrobe, a blouse and tunic with options of a gathered or pleated back and big voluminous sleeves to give it the real wow factor.

The supplementary fabric in the Luxury and Classic boxes this month is 1m of a peach chiffon. A very delicate fabric giving you a bit of a challenge this month. Choose a simple pattern without any fiddly closures such as a woven tank top or amp up the romance with some floaty lingerie. This fabric would also work well as a statement sleeve, paired with a solid viscose that picks out one of the colours.

Keep your paper pattern pieces together with these gorgeous large gold teardrop paper clips from The Chic Dot and jot down sewing plans to fall in love with in the cute heart print notebook.

Classic and Mini Boxes

Another stunner of a viscose in the Classic and Mini boxes with this really bold and unusual large scale print in black and pinky purple on white. The pink is so vibrant agains the black and white, my heart really did skip a beat with these fabrics this month. How amazing would this fabric look in a simple shirt dress that lets the print sing out?

I really cannot wait to see the makes from this box, so make sure to tag me on Instagram, share them on the Facebook community page or even email me.
