How does a SewHayleyJane Subscription work?

When you subscribe you will choose which box best suits you out of the three options here. The contents of each box are carefully selected by me and will often be themed. The boxes are then sent out around the 8th of each month to arrive within a few days for UK customers – please note that international deliveries may take longer.

How much does it cost and how will I be charged?

There are 3 box sizes to choose from:

  • The Mini costs £25.00/month
  • The Classic costs £40.00/month
  • The Luxury costs £70.00/month

You will be charged for your first box the day you sign up and then be automatically charged every month on the 2nd until you cancel your subscription. For example, if you sign up on the 6th September, you will be charged that day and will receive your first box on, or around the 10th October (international delivery times may vary). You will next be charged on the 2nd of November and will receive your second box on or around the same date in November.

When will my box arrive?

I aim to ship out the boxes around the 8th of each month. When you sign up you will receive the next months box. For example, if you sign up on the 3rd of July you will receive your first box on or after the 10th August. This is because I only order the stock that I need each month after subscriptions close on the 25th.

Can I change my subscription?

You can change your subscription at any time before the monthly dispatch by clicking “Login” at the top of each page on the website.

If you upgrade your subscription to a more expensive option, after having already paid for that month, you will be charged the difference.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging in to the website and finding the option to cancel in the account interface. Please note that you will need to cancel before the 25th of the month in order to avoid being charged for the next months box. If you cancel anytime after the 25th you will still be charged on the second of the following month and be sent your final box.

Please note there is no charge to end your subscription and you are not trapped into a contract, you may cancel at any time and re-subscribe at any time between the 3rd and 25th of the month.

  • United States of America (Tracked Shipping: +£17.50)
  • Canada (Tracked Shipping: +£17.50)
  • Australia (Tracked Shipping: +£17.50)
  • New Zealand (Tracked Shipping: +£17.50)
  • Europe (Tracked Shipping: +£10.00)

International Shipping

There will be an extra charge on top of your monthly subscription for “International Tracked And Signed” shipping. The cost will vary depending on which country you are in but the estimated prices are listed above.

All subscription charges will be billed in GBP (£) so will likely alter slightly each month on your bank statement according to current exchange rates.

Can I buy a subscription as a gift for someone else?

Absolutely! Just enter their delivery details during checkout process. In the future I will be looking into offering 3 and 6 month gift subscription options, currently however, the only option is a monthly rolling payment.

What if I don’t like what is inside my box?

Every care is taken to include quality items that I think you will like, but there are times where the fabric option just isn’t to your taste. Unfortunately due to the nature of the company I cannot offer replacements or accept returns at this time unless the product is in someway damaged. However, some suggestions I have for you include:

  • Gift the fabric to someone else
  • Make something for a loved one
  • Use the fabric to practice a new pattern or techniques
  • In the future I am hoping to open an online forum where you can connect with other subscribers. There will be a fabric swap section where you can upload any fabric, not just that from your box that someone else might enjoy. Until then you can do this through the facebook group.

If there is a damaged product in your box please contact me at hello@sewhayleyjane.com and I will take it from there.

What should I do if my box hasn’t arrived?

Please allow an extra 5 days for your box to arrive, especially if the 10th falls on a weekend or bank holiday. If it still hasn’t arrived after 5 days please contact me and I will either send a replacement or refund you for that month.

Refunds

In the event I issue a refund, I’ll submit it to your bank immediately via my payment gateway with Chargebee & Stripe. You will then receive the funds in your account approximately 5–10 business days after the date on which the refund was initiated. (This is an aspect of how the banking system works so can’t be hurried along unfortunately)

Note that refunds may appear in the form of a reversal. In the case of a reversal, the original payment will drop off of your bank statement, and a separate credit is not issued.

What about privacy?

You can read the full privacy policy here: Privacy Policy, but in short, I only use your data to provide legitimate services, I never sell on your information and I keep it as secure as possible.
