A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Wild Side

We are taking a walk on the wild side this months with all things animal and animal print and I am loving the mix of colours and prints inside this boxes!

The initial inspiration from this box started way back around Christmas time when the lovely Louise from Ethel and Joan got in touch. I had been eyeing up her amazing handmade resin buttons for a little while so I was really excited to hear from her. As soon as I spotted her mini Dalmatian buttons I was set on the theme for this month and the buttons are the perfect addition to the Classic and Luxury boxes.

So let’s see what else is inside this month.

Luxury Box

Another month where these boxes are actually bursting at the seam. It took a lot of muscle for the team to wrestle the fabric and all the goodies into the boxes but we got there in the end. The reason for the bulk is the beautiful Lady McElroy Leopard Rose viscose jersey which has a stunning print feature leopard print, roses and houndstooth. This fabric has a lot of stretch and drape to it and will be so cool to wear over the coming warmer months.

We have teamed it up with the Ludmilla dress and top pattern from French pattern company Maison Fauve. There are loads of options with this pattern including different necklines and a fake wrap. I hadn’t come across Maison Fauve before but their patterns are beautiful. The instruction booklet has English instructions in the back and they have also created video tutorials to help your sewing along too.

Classic and Mini boxes

This fabric is so vibrant, the colours are just gorgeous. The Classic and Mini boxes this month include a leopard print viscose in either blue and grey or navy blue and pink. I love them both, I can’t decide which is my favourite but there was some pink leftover after we packed up the boxes so I took it straight home to put in the wash.

The fat quarters are a stunning collection (aren’t they always?) from Craft Cotton Company called Gone Wild and feature jungle prints with animals and foliage. Just wait until you see how Tamlyn put them to use to create this months tutorial!

As well as all that gorgeousness the boxes all also include a matching reel of Gutermann thread, a beautiful length of pink leopard print ribbon and I was pretty happy with my choice of sweet treat this month – a chocolate “Freddo Frog” Yum!
