The sun is shining more and more in Manchester, the leaves are turning green and I can taste the no sweater weather. The thought of pretty florals is giving me my sewjo.
Is it warm yet? The air holds a beautiful promise of a time when I can dress up without needing a massive coat to cover up the wonderful colours of my outfit. Nothing screams no coat weather like this month’s box.
Summer! Summer! Summer! Summer!!! I don’t know if I have summer on my mind or High School Musical, honestly, a bit of both. The possibility of daylight and short sleeves has got me all kinds of excited. Clearly it’s not only me because nothing screams summer louder than linen.
I have warm weather firmly on my mind. This is my first time of booking my holiday well in advance and the thought of taking a nice summer vacation is filling me with excitement to sew.
As it continues to get colder, I have winter accessories on my mind. I haven’t made a lot of accessories in the past, but the beauty of not needing to fit my bust, waist and hips was too appealing.
There’s just something about this month’s poplin that has my heart, it may have to do with the light pink colour or the lovely black shapes, it may also just be the weight of the fabric. But if I’m to guess, I’ll say it’s all three of them.
This month’s fabric was love at first sight. I absolutely love the mix of colours on the fabric. The colours and patterns on the fabric is reminiscent of a painting by Van Gogh. Can you imagine that! The painting depicted the view just before sunrise.
I love that this month’s box has both pink and plain fabric. I’m enjoying all the Barbie pinks of late so glad to have an excuse to make a pink garment.
