This month’s fabric is absolutely fabulous and I wanted to create something that was as epic and worthy of such a beautiful print.

I am definitely more happy sewing spring/summer makes, as I don’t have to consider if I can wear whatever I’m making with several layers and it can be its own stand alone piece.
When I only have 1m of fabric to make something with, I always keep in mind ways I can use the fabric with something else when looking at patterns, to maximise the best use of it.
I am very much ready for spring, and am hoping that by planning and wearing my spring-like clothes it will convince the weather to follow suit!
I always say one of the best things about receiving a subscription box is getting the chance to try fabrics you might not necessarily reach for, and giving yourself a bit of a challenge.
I love receiving fabrics that I wouldn’t instantly gravitate to when I get my box, as I can have a little think as to what to make which adds to the joy of the creative process. This month’s fabric certainly makes me happy as a knitter, as it has such a beautiful knit texture to it!
Now that the boxes have changed to having a 1m piece of fabric instead of Fat Quarters, there are lots more opportunities to get creative with garments that you can make with smaller amounts.
I don’t tend to sew with jersey fabric as much as I would like, so when Hayley features it in the boxes it makes me so happy that I finally have a reason to work with some. Even better when it looks as magical as this month’s one does, how beautiful is it?!
What do you do when you have made so many versions of your current favourite wardrobe staple sewing pattern? Well, you look to see how you can hack it of course!
