Festival Fever; Inspiration
If you’re still wondering what to make with your fabric from the July box, whether it’s the chambray or the AGF fabric, hopefully there’s something here to inspire you!
How’s this to kick things off, Nina Lee has released a summer essentials collection, one of which is this gorgeous Moselle ruffle top and dress. Even better, the pattern (pdf only) is just £2.50!! The ruffle gives you the option to play around with contrast fabrics.
The Wanderer Tank from Friday Pattern Company is perfect for using small pieces of fabric, and as its reversible you get two tops for the price of one!
Unless you’ve been on the moon you are probably aware that Tilly and the Buttons released two new patterns recently. The Stevie Tunic has boxy fit with a round neckline and kimono sleeves – a quick and satisfying sew!
From Closet Case Patterns the Kalle shirt and shirtdress is popular amongst sewists. Again, kimono sleeves means no setting in required and the high-low hem gives a real dramatic look.
If you fancy making yourself a skirt then check out the Azara skirt from Deer & Doe – a high-waisted, midi length skirt that can either be buttoned down the front or zipped up at the back.
Another option is the Emerson Crop Pant and Shorts from True Bias, a pull on style that is elasticated at the back with front pleats and pockets.
For something a little more challenging how about the Rosa shirtdress from Tilly and the Buttons? This dress features princess seams, a back yoke, collar and stand and is finished with top stitching to make those seams stand out!
Finally, the Raine Dress from Jennifer Lauren is a gorgeous fit ‘n’ flare with the options of sweetheart or scoop neckline and gathered or pleated skirt.
Let me know what you are making this month!
