Is there anything more summery than a pair of light cotton shorts? Ice cream colours, loose silhouettes and light fabrics.
It has felt like we have been in the deepest depths of winter for a gazillion years, but we are finally starting to see the slightest hint of sunshine over in the UK. I have been so longing to feel a bit of warmth on my bones!
I love the theme this month. I think a lot of people in the sewing community in 2024 have taken the shift to a more mindful wardrobe, turning to making high quality staples that stand the test of time.
I don’t know about you, but I am soooooo ready to shed the dark layers of winter clothing. I am pining for some poppy, spring colours to brighten my wardrobe and get me excited for the (hopefully!) warmer months ahead.
My inspiration this month came from a ready to wear garment I happened to stumble upon, and then couldn’t stop seeing everywhere.
When I found out what the Luxury fabric was going to be this month, and that it was my turn to get it, I was absolutely floored.
After saying last month that I need more comfy trousers in my wardrobe, here I am again making another dress. Oh well!
If there is something lacking in my wardrobe, it is comfy pants. You know the type – working from home, zoom call trousers. Simple chuck-on bottoms when you’re not in the mood to wear jeans.
