Make Of The Month; Stacie
Well, can you believe it, I’m back again! It was only a couple of months ago I was here as Hayley’s Subscriber of the Month, and now I am here with Make of the Month! It was such a lovely surprise this week to receive a message from Hayley telling me how much she loved my most recent SewHayleyJane Make!
I just absolutely love how Hayley engages with her customer base, and including us in the monthly magazine is such a wonderful way to do so! As winner of Make of the Month I also win a free box, so I would highly recommend sharing your SewHayleyJane Makes on Instagram if you want to be in with a chance of winning and being featured in here too!
My creation was from October’s Classic Sew Retro Box! I usually opt for the Classic Box, because I like always having enough fabric to make most dress patterns from, but I was super happy to find out that this gorgeous blue crepe was wide enough to allow me to make a jumpsuit out of it (something you would usually expect to need 3m for)!
The pattern I made is a fairly new release from Sew DIY (@sewdiyblog) called the Dana Jumpsuit! Now I know what people say about the whole inconvenience of wearing jumpsuits at certain inconvenient times (you know what I mean don’t you?!) but I absolutely love them! Dressed up or dressed down, I just feel incredibly glamorous in a jumpsuit, and this make is no exception.
The October Box came with some great fat quarters that just screamed party to me, some super handy machine needles and elastic, as well as some awesome sewing themed temporary tattoos from Pink Coat Club!
But back to the fabric, with weight and drape similar to that of a viscose, but the crepe texture it has a real special feel. The base colour is a gorgeous bright blue, and it features a unique print, twinning geometric patterns with florals. Against the blue background pale blue and tan triangles, frame the most gorgeous red and white flowers.
This fabric is the perfect example of why I love receiving Hayley’s subscription boxes. I get to play with the most amazing fabrics that I would not find or think to try by myself, pushing myself into more creativity in my makes. Thank you for another amazing selection Hayley!
