5 Christmas Sewing Projects

Well obviously this month’s supplementary fabric is giving all of the festive vibes, so here are some ideas to get you started on your seasonal preparation.

Tilly & the Buttons Christmas Stocking

Team Tilly have recently released a great value (and adorable!) stocking pattern, with 100% of the proceeds going to support vulnerable children via the ‘Action For Children Secret Santa Appeal’.  Quick, easy and fun to sew, this beginner-friendly stocking sewing pattern features a quilted sock, fold over cuff, lining and hanging loop.

Waves and Wild Christmas Hat

No Christmas is complete without a silly hat, but why not make yours a little more stylish this year? This is a fantastic free pattern, from size XS to L and can be made in a Santa or Elf style. We’d love to see some fun photos in the makers gallery next month!

Merchant and Mills Betty Apron

Although you won’t have enough fabric to make the full apron, I thought you could combine it with a plain to make a lovely apron to protect your clothes while cooking that delicious Christmas Dinner. I loved the crossover back, slip over the head style of this one and the pocket is the perfect way to showcase your supplementary fabric.

Christmas Tree Napkins

These gorgeous Christmas Tree shaped napkins will add a special and unique touch to your festive dinner table. It’s also a free pattern with a youtube sewalong tutorial too!

Folded Fabric Star Ornaments

This amazing ‘non-sewing’ project uses folding and weaving to create stunning origami star decorations. Another free pattern, with both step by step instructions and a video tutorial, it will be perfect for adding a special touch to your tree this year.
