Last month Gemma received the pink and grey floral spot cotton poplin in the Classic Box and used it to make a Nina Lee Park Lane Dress, perfect for a spring wedding.
Esther received the bright and bold Lady McElroy Magenta Haven viscose lawn in March’s Luxury Box and made a pair of trousers using Burda 6966 pattern
This month Laura received the Mini box and turned her beautiful yellow and grey flower spot cotton poplin into a Closet Core Cielo Top.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner – 27th March in the UK – I thought I’d put together a little round up of gift ideas to make with your stash of fat quarters from your SewHayleyJane boxes. These quick and simple projects won’t take much more than an hour to whip up and are beautiful as well as practical.
I started SewHayleyJane because I believe in helping and inspiring sewists’ creativity and one thing many struggle with, me included, is jeans making – so as part of my mission I have decided to give away 4 tickets to a jeans making weekend masterclass with none other than winner of the Great British Sewing Bee, Charlotte Newland!
Oh boxes are just bursting with spring beauty! Interestingly these boxes took a few twists and turns before finally settling on it’s theme but I am so happy with how they turned out and I think we have some really beautiful and interesting fabrics inside this month.
It’s no secret around here that I love double gauze, I love working with it and I love wearing it. It seems to have a magical property that makes it super lightweight to wear in the summer but can also make you feel pretty snuggly in the winter due to it’s softness.
Every month I get to chat to one of my lovely subscribers to find out more about them and their sewing journey. This month I caught up with Lindsay (@sewlottiesew)
February’s top make came from Alissa (@byalissa) who used December’s shimmer viscose to make a stunning McCall’s M8146 Myrtel.
