A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Paint By Numbers

This box is inspire by that art teacher we probably all had at some point in our school days. The one whose classroom you couldn’t wait to get to, who wore over-sized shirts and layers of beaded necklaces and spoke a little more candidly than the other teachers to their students.

Mine was called Mrs Harrison and I loved her classes. So let’s take a look at the boxes.

Luxury Box

All the fabrics this month are just so stunning, the Luxury fabric is an incredible viscose linen blend with a watercolour floral pattern in either lilac or cream. It is just so pretty, it has that linen texture but with the fluidity of viscose making it so wearable.

The pattern this month is the Balka Dress and Top from Wardrobe By Me, a loose and floaty style that will really show off the fabric. I think the top version will look really cute this spring worn over jeans and sandals.

A kit within a kit!! This month we have this sweet little cross stitch kit from Stitchfinity. They have a great selection of kits available including chunky ones for kids, but I went for the bee… of course!!

Classic and Mini Boxes

Oooh you guys have been loving the Classic fabric this month and it’s easy to see why. This bright and bold tie-dye print viscose is incredible. Perfect for summer, it’s lightweight and floaty and the print gives that easy-breezy laid back feel. It came in two colour-ways, a pinky-orange and a blue-orange. If you have any travels or festivals planned this summer this fabric has to be in your bag!!

As if that wasn’t enough fabric for you, the Classic and Luxury boxes also include a 1m supplementary fabric – another viscose – this time an “Aurora Borealis” inspired fabric with a pink, orange and green wash of colours.

Every box also included a set of 5 buttons in either pink or blue, a bone-effect with a swirly ridge across the centre as well as of course a reel of Gutermann thread and the SHJ mini magazine jam-packed with fabulous inspiration!
