A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Paint The Town

Well here we are, December 2021, the last box of the year! I can’t quite believe it! It’s been quite the year for many of us and I wanted to make sure this box was full of colour and celebration… whether or not you are going out to celebrate or staying home and celebrating with those nearest to you I hope this box brings you joy!

This box actually started taking shape way back in September when I found the perfect fabric for the fat quarters… having realised if I wanted festive fat quarters ready cut and folded I should have ordered them back in March! So a DIY job it was going to have to be and this fabric was perfect for it. Rainbow, geometric and metallic these fat quarters have already proved very popular with lots of you lot asking for more!

Let’s take a look at the rest of the goodies inside Decembers boxes.

Luxury Box

This fabric is so beautiful, it’s a Lady McElroy viscose morrocain crepe called Polished Pebbles in Wine and has the most amazing drape and weight to it. I absolutely love the bright pop of blue against the rich wine colour and think it will make a stunning special occasion dress.

I have paired it with the Gabbie dress from The Pattern Preacher, which is a really sophisticated boat neck dress bringing a touch of vintage glamour.

Now as if these boxes weren’t special enough I got in touch with Liz Harry – the queen of colour (@lizharrydesign) and asked her if should could create something unique for Decembers boxes and wow did she deliver! This stunning enamel pin showcases a festive sewing machine with the words “Sew This Is Christmas” with gold edging. It really is something extra special for the Luxury and Classic boxes!

Classic and Mini Boxes

Well if you were looking for the perfect fabric for a glitzy dress or top then I have got you covered with this stunning shimmer viscose in either a deep red or a pinky/purple. This fabric is incredible, it shimmers in the light and almost has a bit of a two-tone effect going on. It would also make for some very glamorous nightwear or lingerie!

Then as well as the matching reel of Gutermann thread every box has a selection of bright and colourful plastic shank buttons that I think look like baubles on the Christmas tree. Finally, what is Christmas without a chocolate coin or two?

As always I am so excited to see what you make with your goodies so don’t forget to share them with me on Instagram #sewhayleyjanemakes or in our new subscribers page on Facebook.
