Even better when you can hang up your pre-washed fabric to float about in the breeze and look all pretty. If I was writing this anywhere other than a sewing blog I might get some odd looks, but I know that this is a safe place to admit to such things!
I've been following Lucy from https://smileandmake.com/ over on Instagram for a while and have also been reading her blog for the last few months and I find her to be an incredibly inspiring person. I'll leave you to read more about her over on her website in her own words but she campaigns to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity after sadly loosing her husband last year. As well as raising money for the charity through the Michael Barry Fund she also sews the most incredible, colourful, dresses I've ever seen... seriously they are gorgeous!
The 'theme' for this month is Walking in a Winter Wonderland which to me mean means something seriously cosy and snuggly. Instagram has been full of handmade jumpers, sweatshirts and jumper-dresses so what could be better than sending a box of quilted knit fabric and fleece backed sweatshirt fabric. Perfect.
If you haven't used your fat quarters yet to make something fabulously festive I've got a few ideas for you here. If you have used them, post some pictures and show us all. Let's inspire each other.
Have you used your fat quarters yet? I'd love to see what you made. You can email me pictures, or tag me in your photos on social media. I have set up the #sewhayleyjanemakes just for you so don't forget to use it!
I've had some really lovely feedback from customers who were as excited to receive their boxes as I was to pack them up and ship them off. A few people have already made some lovely items with the contents of their boxes and posted them on Instagram, there may have been some squeals from me when I saw them. Don't forget if you post a picture on social media to tag me in the comments and also to use #sewhayleyjanemakes so that I can see everything.
