Warm and Cosy
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And boy do we need it after the year that was 2020. We celebrate Christmas in my house and even though we aren’t going to be able to see all the family I am going all out to make it as special as possible and I am too excited!
I hope December’s Warm and Cosy boxes has bought a little bit of that magic to your doorstep without being too in your face Christmas (no bad thing in my book though!).
I teamed up with the lovely ladies at Crafty Sew & So who curated this months box to bring you the snuggliest box possible. Last years December box was all about the Glitz and Glam but as the parties aren’t happening this year we wanted to lean towards the Hygge concept. I’m just sad I couldn’t include a scented candle as well!
Crafty Sew & So is your one stop shop for gorgeous fabrics, haberdashery, workshops and patterns, including their own amazing and easy to follow patterns. Not only that but they are famous for their (pre covid) events such as the Dressmakers Ball and hopefully in 2021 their Sewing Camp.
So, let’s dive into these boxes and see what goodies await.
Luxury Box
Are you ready to snuggle? I hope so. Because all the boxes this month contain the most beautiful brush cottons with the Luxury fabric coming from Lady McElroy. The brushed cotton twill comes in two colourways, the red Bayer Check or the blue Garcia Check. This fabric will be great for warm PJs but as it is a little thicker it’s structure will hold up well for skirts and trousers or even a jacket!
Crafty Sew & So have provided you with a pattern bundle of two amazing garments. Their PJ Bottoms and their brand new Pintuck Cami Top will make a great set. Pair the Cami top with a soft and floaty fabric topped off with a snuggly knit cardi and warm socks and you’ve got the perfect outfit for a Netflix night!
As a little extra for the Luxury boxes there is a super cute little dino sticker from Crafty Sew & So’s new neighbour Wren and Wilson with his little mittens and wooly socks!
Classic and Mini Boxes
The Classics were in for a treat this month, not usually one to include a pattern but this time they have their own snuggly PJ Bottoms pattern to go alongside the softest brushed cotton check. Being slightly lighter in weight this fabric will also work well for a classic shirt or shirtdress – hello secret PJs. This fabric does come with a warning that you may want to stroke yourself all day whilst wearing it!
The fat quarters this month are a stunning selection of classic prints in Crafty Sew & So colours from Higgs & Higgs. They are a gorgeous quality and a fabulous stash builder, soft enough to use for pocket linings and facings.
All the boxes also included a tasty little mug biscuit in the shape of a snow topped house made by my business neighbours Little Bee Bakery. These biscuits sit on the rim of your mug of hot chocolate/tea/baileys looking very pretty!
Inside this months boxes there is also a little bag of self cover buttons so that you can perfectly match your buttons to your outfit and of course a reel of Gutermann thread.
I cannot wait to see what you make this month, so make sure to post your pictures to Facebook or Instagram #sewhayleyjanemakes.
