September always brings about that “back to school” feeling, even when the year hasn’t exactly been a normal one and whether or not you are getting “back to school”.
I loved putting these boxes together, I think I’ll always be drawn to florals and if I can find florals that are just a little more interesting I get very excited about them.
It’s not often I get the chance to stitch up a garment using the fabric from the boxes ahead of time but once I had decided on the absolutely beautiful Loseta viscose crepe from Fabric Godmother I contacted Josie to ask if she could send me an extra 3m a few weeks before and she super kindly gifted me some.
Junes box was super special for me. Not only did I have the opportunity to create a limited edition screen-print to go inside, but the fabric was the perfect match to sew something I’ve wanted to make for a long time – a matching co-ord set!

This box has been in the works since February when I met Josie of the Fabric Godmother at a trade show here in the UK showcasing her gorgeous range of fabrics that she had started producing last year.
Have you heard of the Unboxing Ritual? As I’m writing this the boxes have begun arriving and my Instagram feed has been flooded with photos of #shjunboxingritual it is one of my favourite days of the month. I love seeing…
Last month Claire put that gorgeous barcode stripe viscose linen mix to fabulous use by making the Rosie dress by Cotton + Chalk (a free pattern with Simply Sewing Magazine) I am completely thrilled that my dress has been chosen…
If you haven’t already come across Tamlyn from @sewn_on_the_tyne on Instagram or YouTube you definitely need to go check her out. Tamlyn has been a subscriber to the SewHayleyJane boxes for over a year now… probably coming up to two….
