I absolutely loved putting these boxes together and from what you lot have been telling me on Instagram you have loved opening them too!
September always brings about that “back to school” feeling, even when the year hasn’t exactly been a normal one and whether or not you are getting “back to school”. So I wanted to bring that feeling to you in a box and one of my favourite lessons at school was always art, how on earth I managed to scrape a pass in Art a GCSE I’ll never know has I don’t actually have an artistic bone in my body, didn’t stop me loving it thought!
This months Luxury box includes an incredibly beautiful cotton lawn from Lady McElroy called Lola in Ocean Blue or Chantilly. I loved that the fabric looks like someone has been having fun with a canvas and a paint station, it’s so beautiful and as always with LM their lawns are just fantastic quality!
The pattern I have paired the fabric with is the brand new release from Tilly and the Buttons, the Lotta dress. An easy breezy quick to sew dress with an elasticated waist that has been designed to work in both woven and jersey fabrics!
Classic and Mini Boxes
Moving over to the Classic (2.5m) and Mini (1m) boxes and the fabric inside is this fabulous viscose jersey with a pale blue background and a fantastic leaf print in various colours. This fabric is so soft and drapey and is going to look absolutely amazing in so many styles.
The fat quarters this month are from a selection of 12 different designs in a range called Makoti by Stuart Hillard for the Craft Cotton Co. The patterns reminded me of an art class spent doodling different patterns, love it!
Inside the Classic and Luxury boxes we have a one of a kind washi tape designed exclusively for SHJ by Lyndsay of Nutmeg and Arlo. This incredibly cute washi tape features beautiful sewing themed illustrations and can be used for all sorts of crafts, journalling and even as a seam allowance guide on your sewing machine.
Alongside all of these goodies every box also includes a wheel of pastel coloured flower head pins as well as the matching Gutermann thread and a packet of yummy white chocolate Jazzles.
