Riviera
This box has been in the works since February when I met Josie of the Fabric Godmother at a trade show here in the UK showcasing her gorgeous range of fabrics that she had started producing last year.
I fell in love with the stunning prints on beautiful quality fabric bases and in particular the blue Loseta viscose crepe and knew that it had to be worked into a theme for the summer.
Now, I was in two minds about whether to go for the Riviera theme thanks to the travel restrictions that have been in place the last few months. I didn’t want to remind people of the holidays they have sadly had to cancel. But, I also thought that if you couldn’t go to the Italian Riviera then I would bring it to your doorstep instead!
Luxury Box
The print of this beautiful viscose crepe was based on an original 1970s Italian wallpaper and it really is stunning. I have already put it to good use making a Myosotis hack that I will be revealing soon but I also think it will look so gorgeous made into the Olivia Dress from The Pattern Preacher included in the box.
Classic and Mini Boxes
The Classic and Mini boxes this month feature one of two colourways of this beautiful polka dot crepe in navy and ivory. This floaty dream was giving me some Pretty Woman vibes and I can just imagine the classiest of dresses or chic trousers being made.
The fat quarters are a beautiful collection called Tranquillity from Craft Cotton Co that I think would look great made into some large cushions for the garden/balcony/porch!
Every box this month includes that amazing Riviera inspired print by Suze Riley of Suze Cuts Paper who creates her illustrations using a unique paper cutting method. I love how she took inspiration from the blue and white fabric to create one of the dresses. Anyone else fancy sitting under a giant umbrella with a cocktail and some hand sewing for an afternoon?
Finally, every box includes 100m reel of Gutermann thread, a selection of sewing machine needles and some lemon sherbets (because unfortunately I couldn’t include limoncello)
