Adventure
Pack up your me-made suitcases, we are off on a road trip adventure with June’s incredible boxes, where shall we travel to first?
Yes this months boxes are all about adventuring, exploring and travelling. A little bit of wanderlust if you don’t mind. I am so in love with everything in these boxes (when am I ever not?!) and cannot wait to show you all of the gorgeous goodies so let’s dive straight in.
Classic and Mini Boxes
Oh my how in love with this fabric am I?! This stunning viscose twill in the Classic and Mini boxes has the most incredible mix of prints and colours, it has an Aztec feel to it and will make the most incredible summer outfits – music festivals here we come! Whilst the fabric will be perfect for the summer, the dark background means it will work with your autumn and winter wardrobe as well, perhaps with a few more layers though.
Luxury Box
Could there be a more perfect fabric for a road trip than a print featuring old cars, mountains, lakes and cabins in the wood? This Lady McElroy cotton marlie-care lawn called “Mountain Grandeur” has the softest feel and drape to it and will pair just so perfectly with this months pattern. The Fleetwood Frock by Sew Different I think will be a staple for a hot summer. I think I just might need to play some Stevie Nicks whilst sewing this one up… it’s only right!
The fat quarters are actually where it all started for this box. This gorgeous set from Craft Cotton Co is called “Desert” and definitely makes me want to pack my backpack and head off to the Sahara desert for an epic adventure. Watch out for our passport case tutorial coming up soon.
We have teamed up once again with the team at The Specky Seamstress, queen of bias binding who designed this “Time To Explore” bias tape exclusively for this months boxes and features a sunset over mountains which will finish your makes beautifully!
If all that wasn’t enough, every box also received a matching Gutermann thread, an assorted set of hand sewing needles, a little sweet treat and of course the magazine full of inspiration for you!
Happy Sewing folks!
