This box is a celebration of spring, that moment when you can finally put your pre-washed fabric outside to dry, you can throw open the windows and let a little fresh air breeze through the house, the delicate streams of sun making everything seem brighter.

Did I paint a good picture there? Of course right now as I type this much of the UK and other parts of the world are under a blanket of snow and battling high wind speeds… but this will pass and we will be able to do the above in no time… I’m sure of it!

So let’s spring forward and take a look at what went into the boxes shall we?

Luxury Box

How to describe the fabric in the Luxury Boxes this month? A stunning watercolour splash effect print in pinks and blues on a beautiful quality viscose crepe. Can you just picture it blowing in the breeze on a beautiful blue sky day? The viscose quality makes it a fabulously wearable fabric with the crepe giving it a gorgeous texture.

I’ve paired it with the Atelier Jupe Zoey Blouse – big sleeves aren’t going anywhere it seems and this pattern features a lovely puff sleeve which will look wonderful in the fabric. It’s a pullover style blouse with a V-neckline and bust darts for some subtle shaping.

The Luxury and Classic boxes also will have arrived smelling good too as they all had a cute little travel sized bar of Clovelly Soap Co. Eucalyptus, Lemon and Mint soap – is there anything fresher than that combination of scents? I don’t think so.

Classic and Mini Boxes

Also featuring a viscose crepe this month (a first for the boxes!) the Classic and Mini boxes each had a length of a stunning fabric in either white, lilac or navy blue with a large tropical leaf and flower print. All of them are so gorgeous and I can see a lot of blouses and floaty dresses in our future.

The fat quarters this month are from a collection called Indigo Elements designed by Stuart Hillard for Craft Cotton Co and celebrate the ancient art of indigo dyeing techniques with different shades of blue and prints inspired by nature. Look out for our peg bag tutorial coming out very soon.

As well as all of that every box included a retractable water soluble marking pen, 100m reel of Gutermann thread and two packs of swizzles fizzers as well as of course the SHJ magazine full of amazing inspiration.
