It’s September! That back to school, early autumn time of year. The Pumpkin Spice is out, the boots are on and the blankets are ready!

This months boxes definitely had a little nod to this lovely time of year, in particular the colours and scents along with thoughts of picking apples and blackberries ready to turn into a crumble and deep colours of plum, navy and forest green.

Classic and Mini Box

The fabrics in this months Classic and Mini boxes are the beautiful viscose poplins in green or purple. The fabric has a lovely silky touch to it but with a good amount of weight and drape making it an amazing fabric to create an autumn dress of dreams!

This is the last month that the boxes will include fat quarters, swapping them out from October with a length of an additional fabric up to 1m perfect for making smaller garments, bags, pillowcases and other beautiful projects. The last fat quarters then are this beautiful floral collection from Craft Cotton Co called Bright Blooms, and make great reusable bowl covers (project coming very soon).

Every box also received a set of pear head sewing pins as well as a 100m reel Gutermann Sew All thread and of course, a little sweet treat!

Luxury Box

The Luxury Boxes have an absolutely beautiful viscose challis lawn from Lady McElroy called Floral River. It has the lightest touch and drape making it the perfect fabric for any floaty pattern, but the deep navy with flecks of orange and mustard make it great for this time of the year.

I have paired it with the Seasons Of East “Summer in New York” pattern which, whilst designed to be a summer dress will look so gorgeous layered up through the seasons.

Finally, the Luxury and Classic boxes are appealing to some of your other senses as well with a set of Black Plum and Rhubarb wax melts from the Beaulieu Candle Company. Set your burner alight, make a cup of tea and enjoy some relaxing sewing time.
