Sugar And Spice
Well here we are the last box of 2022 and what a year it has been for these boxes! I feel so proud of how the boxes have developed this year and I think we are going out this year with a bang!
These boxes began life way back in March when I had to pre-order the festive fat quarters. Having learnt the hard way the year before that if we needed the amount of fat quarters to fulfil every box we would need to plan much further in advance… queue lots of cutting and neatly folding fat quarters in the evenings.
I spotted the gorgeous “Scandi Sweet Treats” collection and instantly knew I could create the perfect theme around gingerbread houses and hot chocolates and all the other yummy things that come with this time of the year.
Luxury Boxes
We have been so lucky to once again work with Lady McElroy to create a beautiful new fabric that will be exclusive to SewHayleyJane subscribers until January. The brief for this fabric was warm spicy colours like cinnamon and ginger – imagine a baking marathon in your kitchen at Christmas time. The result was this gorgeous “Lorellie-Blush” viscose rickardi lawn featuring a digital abstract print of dark brown and orangey splodges on a blush pink background. This fabric will make such a stunning blouse or floaty dress perfect for any festive lunches you might be heading to.
Luckily if it’s a blouse you are looking for I have you covered with the sweet Pepa Blouse from Atelier Scämmit. A gorgeous long or sleeveless design with a gathered waist, buttons down the back and a cute notched collar.
The gift in this month Luxury and Classic boxes comes from local to me artist Katie Andrews who created a gorgeous illustration to fit the Sugar and Spice brief along with some seriously cute little festive stickers perfect for finishing off any wrapping of handmade gifts this year.
Classic and Mini Boxes
The main fabric in this months Classic and Mini boxes is a beautiful pale blue viscose with a little berry/flower print – another fabric that will make a stunning blouse this season but will see you throughout the year.
As well as all that ever box also received a wheel of metallic pearl head pins, a 100m reel Gutermann thread, a yummy choccy treat from Montezuma’s and of course the SHJ magazine..
