Summer Holiday
It’s not hard to guess where the inspiration for these boxes came from. It’s around this time of year that I start looking longingly at photos of far-flung exotic beaches and picturing myself lounging in a hammock between two palm trees with a piña colada in hand!
I terrifyingly realised that I have not swam in the sea since I went on holiday to Cornwall with friends when I was 17! Thats 14 years! I plan to rectify that this year… even if it’s just a paddle!
Anyway, I should probably get on and tell you more about the goodies inside this months boxes!
Luxury
I am totally in love with this fabric. It is a viscose florenza crepe from my absolute favourite company, Lady McElroy. They can do no wrong in my opinion, their fabrics are so beautiful and of such a gorgeous quality! The pale blue background with lovely leaf print will be perfect for so many projects. It has a gorgeous drape to it so matches perfectly to this months pattern.
The Reeta Midi Shirt Dress by Named Clothing is a fab, lightweight, comfortable dress for packing in your suitcase. Also, may I just say I am loving how classy the packaging is here! The Reeta is buttoned down the centre front with a drawstring waist, with its wide sleeves and loose skirt I reckon this would be so comfortable to wear on a hot day!
Both the Luxury and the Classic boxes also include an “Every Cloud” Notebook from Jilly Jilly – another of my favourite companies! The cover features sweet little hot air balloons and flying kites (again with the wistful dreaming!) and plain paper on the inside, perfect for packing in your beach bag to make any notes of pattern inspiration whilst you do your best people watching!
Classic and Mini
This beautiful yellow and pink floral print fabric is a peachskin which I have to admit is pretty new to me. But I’ve seen some lovely garments made from peachskin and loved the feel of the samples so I’m really excited to include it in this months boxes. I love how bright and sunny the colours are, summer in fabric form!
The fat quarters, from Craft Cotton Company are perfect if you want to inject a bit of a beach theme into your house for the summer. In gorgeous turquoise colours they feature shell and starfish prints.
Included in every box are 10 buttons, in either sky blue or pale pink, a white concealed zip and the matching gutermann thread as well as a stick of Christchurch Rock – a staple of a British seaside holiday!
As I always I cannot wait to see what you make with your goodies. Remember you can tag me on Instagram #sewhayleyjanemakes or post them on the Facebook page.
Happy Sewing!
