A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Tilly’s Dream Box

Well it’s finally here, the box I have been dreaming of ever since I started 7 years ago. The Tilly and the Buttons X SewHayleyJane collaboration box.

The idea is simple… what would Tilly want to receive in a sewing goody box and I think you’ll agree, it’s all stunning. We worked together to choose the fabrics, the pattern in the Luxury box is of course the latest release, a sewing gift, and of course the perfect little sweet treat whilst you enjoy rifling through the boxes.

So without further ado… here are the July boxes.

Mini and Classic Boxes

The viscose twill in this months Classic and Mini boxes is just so vibrant! A black base with a stunning, colourful flower print. Being a twill it has a lovely weight to it whilst still being so comfortable to wear in the warmer months – this will make a stunning summer dress as well as, of course, the latest pattern release from Tilly and the Buttons – the Esti Co-ord set.

I mixed things up a little with the thread colour this month, after including a black thread last month I chose to pick out the purple from the print for a lovely contrast thread colour.

The fat quarters are an absolutely stunning collection from Craft Cotton Co called Colourful Blooms. We have a great tutorial for a sewing machine mat – with pockets – which was included in the magazine and will be coming to the blog very soon.

The Luxury and Classic boxes each included this beautiful heat transfer that was designed by Liz Harry for Tilly and the Buttons kits last year. We brought them back especially for the boxes and I can’t wait to see how they get used – jumpers, t-shirts, denim jackets, tote bags… so many options!

Luxury Boxes

We have all been just a little bit excited for the fabric in the Luxury boxes this month. We worked with the great team at Lady McElroy, Tilly chose her favourite print from the archives and we got it re-coloured to this stunning cornflower blue on a viscose rickardi lawn which has just the silkiest feel and drape to it.

Of course we chose it specifically to be a great pairing with the new Esti Co-ord set included in the boxes but it will work so well with so many of Tilly’s patterns – I can definitely see it working well as a Marnie or Mabel.

The Esti pattern calls for 1″ elastic so of course I have you covered with that one and when it comes to yummy treats for a Tilly and the Buttons box it absolutely had to be party rings!

I am just so thrilled with how these boxes have turned out, it’s a real milestone moment for SewHayleyJane and I cannot wait to see all the gorgeous garments made with these beauties!
