A monthly box of sewing goodies, delivered to your door

Meet Me In Paris

This box has been one of those that has been a long time in the making, and it all started with the Lise Tailor “Tea Time” viscose that went into the Luxury Boxes this month.

I first saw the stunning fabric that features tea pots, coffee mugs, cakes and flowers (all my favourite things) back in December and knew that it would be perfect for the boxes one month. Not long after that I also got a first look at some fat quarters that were coming up and the “Evening in Paris” collection were just too good a match to miss out on!

Luxury Box

The Lise Tailor fabric is the most stunning quality pale pink viscose and feels both fun but classy at the same time – a somewhat magic quality! I’ve paired it this month with the Maison Fauve Transat Dress pattern. A stunning beginner dress pattern which will be such a great style for the summer with loose grown on sleeves and a waist tie to cinch it in. I also think it would look great lengthened into a maxi style dress.

The fat quarters from Craft Cotton Co called “Evening in Paris” is a fab collection featuring images of cute girls on bicycles, dogs, cafes, the Eiffel Tower, coffee pots and tasty pastries… again, all the good things! Keep your eyes out for our Tea Cosy project coming soon with these fabrics!

Classic and Mini Boxes

When I was trying decide on the perfect fabric for the Classic and Mini boxes I was picturing meeting friends for coffee and croissants in a fancy cafe and wearing something elegant, a little bit vintage and comfortable in the spring and summer. A stunning and bold floral cotton poplin was the perfect choice and, I love how vibrant the colours are on the white background and cannot wait to see what you choose to make this month.

Once I had the main components of the box sorted it was then onto finding the perfect little extra something and I knew just the person to ask. Victoria of Little Rosy Cheeks has come up with some bespoke designs for us in the past so I knew she would create something gorgeous for this month. She took inspiration from the floral designs on the Lise Tailor fabric to create these “magnifique” lilac labels for the Classic and Luxury boxes, the perfect finishing touch!

To finish off this month the boxes also included a shiny new tape measure, 100m reel of Gutermann thread, yummy eclair sweets and of course the SHJ magazine full of inspiration.
